Since COVID-19 could potentially be spread through the air, there is a role for building ventilation and filtration to help reduce airborne exposures to infectious aerosols. In this webinar we will review research and recommendations for improving indoor air quality in K-12 classrooms when (or prior to) reopening schools during COVID-19 recovery. Presenters will review the following topics and current information related to COVID-19 transmission:
- What we know about airborne disease transmission potential of COVID-19
- The role of ventilation in classrooms in improving student performance and reducing absence rates
- Temperature and humidity recommendations
- Air filtration options and recommendations
- Safety precautions for technicians servicing HVAC equipment
- Practical methods for maintaining temperature, humidity, and ventilation needs in classrooms including sensor monitoring networks, commissioning guidance, and operating recommendations
